B&D Consulting Enters Mentor-Protege Agreement

NETCONN Solutions is proud to announce that their Mentor-Protege Agreement with TIC client B&D Consulting, Inc. has been approved by the U.S. Small business Administration (SBA). Under the SBA 8(a) Business Development Program, NETCONN Solutions has formally committed to provide developmental assistance and mentoring to B&D Consulting. This agreement presents NETCONN Solutions the opportunity to give their expertise, resources, and capabilities in the areas of technical, managerial, and administrative support to enhance B&D Consulting's opportunities to successfully compete for various government contracts, and ultimately transition into larger prime contracting opportunities.

Hispanic Festival in Hagerstown

The Fourth Hagerstown Hispanic Festival will be held on Sunday, September 19, 2010 from 12:00 noon to 6:00 pm at Fairgrounds Park. The festival includes food, music, and family events, and is a celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month which runs from September 15 through October 15. It is organized by the Hispanic Association of Hagerstown, a non-profit organization run entirely by non-salaried volunteers. Its mission is to provide meaningful activities for area Hispanics, ethnic understanding in the Hagerstown community, and raise funds for scholarships for Hispanic students at Hagerstown Community College. The proceeds of the festival will benefit this scholarship fund. Sponsors and exhibitors come from around the quad-state area. TIC Client Wins Top Award

B&D Consulting, Inc. won the coveted Incubator Company of the Year award at the Maryland Incubator Company of the Year Awards program in Baltimore on June 15, 2010. B&D Consulting took home the prize for best Technology Services Company in Maryland. They placed first among hundreds of nominations submitted by incubators around the state of Maryland. The tenth annual event, hosted by Saul Ewing, RSM McGladery, Maryland's Dept. of Business and Economic Development, and the Maryland Technology Development Corp. (TEDCO), was held at the Center Club overlooking Baltimore's Inner Harbor. Jeff Bearden and Herb Thompson as well as Kim Bearden, Samson Edmond, and Contina Flemmings from the firm were on hand to accept the award.

TIC Accepting Applications for Tenants

The TIC is accepting applications for early stage technology or manufacturing oriented enterprises. Incubating firms are eligible to receive legal, accounting, commercialization, marketing, product development, and other professional services that are avilable only through the Technical Innovation Center.
